Rami Stucky joined the PF crew as drummer in 2024. Stucky is from Wichita, and his dynamic sensitivity adds notable finesse to PF's sound by blending traditionally acoustic formalities with a tasteful layer of intensity. Stucky can also be heard on Monitor’s Memorand (2017) and Dave Raskin’s Loose the Shades (2022). Both albums are available wherever you stream music.
Gear Rundown:
"I play a Sonor Force 3007 Jungle Kit (10”/14”/16” kick). It fits in our van (Vanana) quite nicely. Some of the lightweight hardware upgrades from Independent Drum Lab make load-in and load-out easy as well. I primarily use a 19” Istanbul Agop Xist Dry Dark Ride Cymbal, some 14” Zildjian New Beats, and a 20” Zildjian Crash of Doom.
I saw that Questlove used the Crash of Doom in a 2005 Modern Drummer feature so I went to Midwest Drum and Percussion in Wichita, KS to purchase one as soon as I could.
I like Aquarian’s Deep Vintage heads because they provide a retro look and feel that are great for brushes but sound nice tuned low for our harder-sounding music. Particularly because I play brushes so often, I use a Kentville drumhead on my Ludwig Acrolite snare drum that my friend Dio Jean-Baptiste gifted me when I lived in Seattle. The Kentville’s like the calfskin heads of old and sounds nice and warm. I like RegalTip’s aluminum retractable brushes."
